Card Upgrades

As part of our efforts to continuously improve our offerings, we're upgrading our debit cards. We hope to make this easy, straightforward and efficient for our members.

Member’s steps to take

  • Be on the lookout for additional information in the upcoming months

New debit cards will be mailed starting next month.

PFCU is upgrading its card system from Mastercard to Visa to offer new card benefits including contactless, tap-to-pay cards, increased security, and digital wallet tokenization.

Yes. All PFCU debit card users will be receiving a new card.

Yes. All members with an active PFCU Mastercard Debit card will be issued a new Visa Debit Card.

Your new card(s) will be coming in the next few months. Be on the lookout for date information coming to your email soon.

Your member number will remain the same. The only thing that will change is your debit card information.

Yes, your debit card number will change as well as your expiration date and the security code on the back of the card. Any recurring payments or stored debit card information will need to be updated (i.e. insurance, utilities, fitness club, subscription services, etc.).

No. Direct deposit of a paycheck, Social Security Income, or retirement funds are sent via Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and not through your Debit Card. Similarly, if you have an automatic payment for a bill or transfer to another account that is set up to come from your savings or checking account versus using the Debit Card number then those payments will continue without any changes or updates required. Only payments that are initiated using your old Debit Card (e.g. PayPal, streaming services like Hulu, or apps like Amazon) will need to be updated with your new Debit Card details.

No. As part of the conversion to Visa, all debit cards will be issued with new card designs.

If your joint owner currently has a card, then yes, they will receive a new card.

Yes.

Your new card will come with an activation sticker attached that includes instructions. Call the phone number on the sticker from your phone number on file. If we do not have your correct phone number on file, please be sure to contact us to update your information.

Once your new card is activated, destroy your old card. You may bring your existing ATM or Debit Card to any of our offices for secure disposal. You are also invited to attend our Safety and Security Shred Event on Satruday, June 14th from 9 am - 12 pm, where you can dispose of your card in addition to large amounts of shred-worthy items safely.

You will need to contact those companies and update your new card information once you activate it.
